Due to extremely high fire danger, exceptional drought conditions, resource availability, and increased fire activity, the Department of Forestry and Fire Management and the Arizona State Land Department will implement closures to State Trust Land throughout Arizona. These closures are also in conjunction with our USFS partners. As of 8am on June 25, 2021, closures will be implemented on state-owned and managed lands in all 15 counties. All state-owned and managed lands are closed to entry for recreational purposes, including hunting, camping, and off-road vehicle use. Target shooting and fireworks are prohibited year-round.
The forecasted heat wave coupled with an unstable atmosphere and extremely dry fuels have the potential to produce large wildland fire incidents across Arizona. The incoming critical fire weather, which also includes dry thunderstorms, also means rapid fuel ignition and fire spread with very erratic and extreme fire behavior.
As of today's date, this is the current list of all fire restrictions on Arizona state-owned and managed lands
The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, along with its federal partners, to implement additional fire restrictions Wednesday 5/26,2021, throughout the southern portion of the state.
The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management plans to implement additional Stage I Fire Restrictions across the central and northern portions of the state starting Friday.
