S-290 Intermediate Fire Behavior
Course Schedule
This 32 hour course is designed to meet the training requirements for any of the single resource boss positions in the ICS Operations Section. This "skill" course provides for teaching wildland fire behavior for effective and safe fire management techniques. Topics covered include; the fire environment, weather processes, temperature and humidity relationships, atmospheric stability, general and local winds, topographic influences, fuels and fuel moisture, and environmental factors and indicators.
The prerequisites for this course are Basic Wildland Firefighting or equivalent (I-100, S-130 & S-190). It is required training for any of the single resource boss positions.
