S-234 Ignition Operations
2010 Course Schedule

Course provides training in the functional roles and responsibilities connected with firing operations including planning, ignition procedures and techniques and equipment applicable to wildland and prescribed fire.  This course also addresses the role of the ignition specialist or firing boss as the organization manages escalation from a non-complex fire situation.  Note:  This course is not intended to qualify or certify any personnel in the use, storage or transport of any firing device.  Rather, it is to provide the potential firing boss a description of available equipment and the requirements specific to each such device. 

Prerequisites - S-290, qualified as FFT2.
