WE ACCOMPLISH OUR MISSION THROUGH:
COOPERATION & COORDINATION
- The Division through a joint agreement, cooperates with 22 federal agencies
- Provides coordination for 7 state agencies through working agreements with 190 local fire departments and 5 private fire departments
The Division has ready access to over 1000 local fire fighting vehicles and more than 1800 trained local wildland fire fighters
plus substantial national resources from the federal agencies.
WE PROVIDE SERVICES IN:
- Prevention Planning
Provide assistance to rural communities in wildfire prevention and hazard reduction planning.
- Training
Annually sponsors 25 fire fighting courses resulting in training 750 local fire fighters
- Dispatching
Annually processes over 10,000 requests for assistance
- Equipping
185 reconditioned excess property, fire fighting vehicles and specialized equipment units are currently in use by rural fire departments
